Kling 4.0: Release Date, New Features and Pricing

Kling AI, the video unit of China's Kuaishou, announced Kling 4.0 on September 28, 2026. The model generates up to 30 seconds of video in a single pass and lets you steer the story with up to ten keyframes. The catch: almost nobody can use it yet. Here is what is officially confirmed, what is still unknown, and what it means for your video ads on Meta and TikTok.

Short answer: Kling 4.0 has been announced but is not generally available. The full model launches in October 2026 with no exact date; only the lighter Kling 4.0 Flash (up to 20 seconds, 720p) is live, and only for Ultra yearly subscribers. Headline upgrades are 30-second clips, up to 10 keyframes, up to 15 references and stereo audio; pricing per video and an API date have not been published.

What is Kling 4.0, and can you use it yet?

Kling 4.0 succeeds Kling 3.0, which launched in February 2026. In its official release note, Kling says the full model "will officially launch in October". It gives no day.

What is live is Kling 4.0 Flash, a faster, lighter version, opened on September 28 to "a limited group of users". Kling's post on X spells out who: "Kling 4.0 Flash is live now for Ultra Yearly subscribers." The membership page lists Ultra as the top plan, at $1,429.99 a year (checked September 29).

Developers will have to wait: Kling's API page only lists the 3.0 series, and API pricing has not been published, Pandaily reports. Meanwhile, Kling is preparing for a possible Hong Kong listing as a separate unit of Kuaishou, according to Bloomberg.

A warning: sites such as kling4.io already sell "Kling 4" access but say themselves they are not affiliated with Kling; the official routes are kling.ai and klingai.com. And "Kuaile AI" or a "Black Gold Annual Card" in some reports are machine translations of 可灵AI and the Chinese Ultra yearly plan: same model.

Other new features in the release note:

• Prompts up to 8,000 tokens, and the model expands short prompts on its own.
• Creative recreation: borrow the pacing and shot structure of an existing video and swap in your own product or character, with product ads as one use Kling names.
• Targeted editing: change expressions, camera angle, background or style in an existing video.
• On-screen text in languages including English, German and French, plus emoji and logos.
• 21:9 as a new aspect ratio next to 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16.
• Video extension up to about 2 minutes ("coming soon").
• A redesigned creation page with one input box for all references, a timeline and a canvas with an agent.

So the headline feature, 30 seconds in one go, is not unique: Seedance 2.5 has offered it since July, with more references. On paper, Kling 4.0 stands out with keyframes and 4K. What Kling 4.0 means for your video ads

• A full ad in one generation. Hook, product, use and packshot fit into 30 seconds without stitching clips together.
• Control over key moments. Keyframes let you decide when the product appears and what the final frame looks like.
• Reuse your own winners. Take the structure of your best-performing video and swap the product. Stick to material you own; rebuilding someone else's ad can get you into legal trouble.
• Check your language. If you advertise in a language Kling doesn't name, such as Dutch or Italian, test it first and keep a separate voice-over as a fallback.
• 4K and HDR are nice, not necessary. For Reels and TikTok viewed on a phone, 4K adds little.

Tips and prompts for Kling 4.0 ads

There is no Kling 4.0 prompt guide yet, but the release note example shows the pattern: one continuous shot with subject, action, setting, camera, lighting and sound. Also:

• Say which audio you want, or don't want: "no dialogue" if you will add your own voice-over.
• Use keyframes for the moments that must be right, such as the final frame.
• Add prices and offers in the edit, not in the prompt.
• Start short. Once the concept works in 10 seconds, make the 30-second version.

1. A 30-second product story

Vertical 9:16 product ad, 30 seconds, one continuous handheld shot, bright morning light, realistic commercial look. A man in his twenties, seen from the side, opens a nearly empty fridge, spots the bottle from the product image on the counter and drinks a glass on a sunny balcony. End on a static packshot of the bottle next to the glass, with empty space above it. Keep the bottle and label exactly as in the product image. Kitchen sounds, pouring, upbeat acoustic guitar. No dialogue, no subtitles, no text on screen.

2. Remake your best video with a different product

Use the reference video only for pacing, shot order and camera movement. Replace the product with the bottle from the reference image and keep its shape, colours and label exactly as shown. Vertical 9:16, 20 seconds, casual UGC style. No dialogue, no subtitles.
